Three Poems

I

In the house no one dreams of contradicting the father
the shimmering poplars shift a little outside
I think of the bees’ coded hum
the outpourings of clouds
how could life not provide for us
every frisson arrives too late

II

Fragile demarcation of rhythm
in the morning the lifeline crosses from one hope to another
reflected in a picture album
the inhalations the flavors the atmospheres keep watch
we know our promises by heart
we know the night is a stone

III

The ravenous earth wears us down
a tree invades the whole window
in the yellow hallway of winter two beings kiss
all things unveiling themselves and all things going dark
we are warring factions wandering and cold
all bodies stationed against what came before

I
